早前政府向城規會介紹新一份《青洲都市化整治計劃》，調整後的總用地面積維持23.8萬平方米，但新計劃提出將青洲山保育面積增大兩倍多，居住人口則由2.7萬人大幅調低至1.3萬人。增加綠化面積，減少居住人口數量，如按新計劃實施，整治後的青洲區居住環境自然會有質的飛躍。
